Brochure/Direct Mail And Print Ad

Suggested Uses: The American Medial Association (AMA) suggests the following methods to reach health care professionals:

  • Distribute flyers to doctor’s offices by hand. Enlist the help of county treatment providers or volunteers.
  • Mail flyers to doctor’s offices. The AMA website, www.ama.assn.org, lists providers of licenses to AMA’s mater file of physicians. These licensees will provide direct mailing services.
  • Mail the flyer to hospitals in your area.
  • Have a display booth or exhibit at major conferences attended by physicians. Contact your local AMA chapter for a list of local conferences.
  • Run the print ad in local publications read by physicians.
  • Have gaming organizations or other state entities pool resources to run the ad in national publications.
  • Contact local HMOs to include these flyers in their mailings to physicians.

Editorial

Another important and effective way to reach this audience is to include editorials in publications or web sites they read. Below is an editorial for your use.

Suggested Use: Have state or county health departments include this editorial in their newsletters. Submit this editorial to state licensing boards for inclusion in their mailings. Couple the editorial with the brochure during mailings or other distribution methods listed above.
